To allow a full range of movement and flow during stretching, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatment is performed on a mat laid on the floor, similar to Thai massage.
Each treatment is adjusted to suit clients' needs, whether that is relaxing, energising, soothing, deep or remedial.

The treatment is initiated with a sequence to warm up the body, which allows the session to become a moving meditation.

During the treatment, a mixture of oil and ayurvedic herb - Acorus calamus - in the form of powder, is applied to the skin.

Ground Acorus calamus, a root of wetland plant from the sweet flag family, stimulates the flow of blood, which not only helps to further warm up the muscles but also supports the body’s detoxing processes as well as giving a pleasant, warm, exfoliating feeling.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage
Realign your body.
Restore your energy.
Reconnect with your breath.
Do you spend long hours at a screen, hunched over and disconnected from your body?
Do you have a demanding movement practice—or a busy life—that leaves your nervous system frayed and your body craving real rest?
Do you want to feel more at home in yourself?
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) is a deeply restorative, dynamic form of bodywork that weaves together:
-
Deep tissue oil massage
-
Assisted yoga-based stretches
-
Breathwork to support release and reconnection
It’s a bodywork modality that meets you on every level—physical, emotional, energetic—and helps return you to your natural rhythm.
This practice draws from the ancient traditions of Ayurveda and yoga, and has been passed down through a hands-on lineage of deeply skilled practitioners. I bring my own lived experience and sensitivity to each session, listening closely to what your body is asking for in the moment.
What to expect?
Sessions take place on a comfortable floor mat/ futon, giving us the space and stability needed for deep massage, assisted stretches, and gentle joint mobilisations - much like Thai yoga massage, but with oil and therapeutic herb-infused powder as well as essential oils selected intuitively to support you on the day.
The treatment begins with grounding touch and slow, steady strokes to warm the body and settle the mind. From there, we move into a flowing sequence of massage and assisted stretches, guided by the breath and tailored to your needs on the day - whether you’re craving deep release, nervous system regulation, or a re-energising reset.
We’ll work with:
-
Grounded, steady pressure (using hands and sometimes feet)
-
Passive & active stretches to lengthen muscles and fascia
-
Synchronised breathing to activate your parasympathetic nervous system
-
Intuitive presence, moving with your body’s readiness and rhythm
A special feature of this method is the use of Acorus calamus powder - an Ayurvedic herb that gently exfoliates the skin and stimulates blood flow, enhancing detoxification and leaving you feeling both soft and invigorated.
